Example 6k: [1-b3-b5-8] [8-b7-5-b5]

Example 6l: [8-b7-b5-1] [1-3-5-b5]

In Example 6m, we play the flatted 2nds (b2) of Bm7b5 and E7 (C and F, respectively), rather than the natural 2nds (C# and F#). These b2s and natural 2s are somewhat interchangeable, but playing the flatted 2nds evokes the more exotic feel of the Harmonic Minor scale. We continue using the b2 through all of the following examples, but feel free to experiment with the sounds of the natural 2 also.

Example 6m: [1-b2-b3-b5] [1-b2-5-b5]
